Customer Reviews [1] Rating: 4 Date: 2006-06-17 Summary: should I buy Def Jam:Vendetta? ... OK I am a big fan of fighting/wrestling games such as WWE SmackDown! series,Tekken amongst other.I`m wondering if Def Jam:Vendetta is worth a buy.First of all i`m not a fan of music,I only listen to some every now and again,so I probably won`t know half the guys on its character roster. But I don`t care about all that,I`m wondering if the actual wrestling gameplay is good,I heard its similar to WWF No Mercy, the best wrestling game on N64 and I loved it.If so,after i finsih the game i will purchase DJ:Fight For N.Y. ...more
[2] Rating: 5 Date: 2005-11-27 Summary: rapper's and fighting = def jam ... I was first attracted to this game because a am a hip hop fan. if you dont like rap, I don't reccomend this game. If you like rap, than this is definatly for you. The rapper characters are great, and I even find myself playing as my favorite story character, Spider. He is definatly the best of the four. At the end of story mode, you face a character called D-mob (the guy with the "v" chain onthe cover). It is extremely hard. When you beat him, you can play as him and kick butt in the process. The multiplayer is amazing. ...more
[3] Rating: 5 Date: 2005-04-24 Summary: TH15 G@ME 15 @DD1CT1VE ... this game rules. i am probably the worst video gamer on the face of the planet. don't listen 2 anybody else. it is mad eazy. buy it even though it might get boooooooooooooring in 2 weekz. ...more
[4] Rating: 4 Date: 2005-10-20 Summary: Let's go !!! ... Somehow I adore this game. There are many well known stars, like DMx, Method Man, Joe Budden and N.O.R.E. There are also created fighters. These fighters are Sketch, Razor, Chuklez and Nyne. My favourit fighters are Joe Budden and Razor. Razor is 1m 96 tall and he is very strong, so his punches look unreal good. Def Jam Vendetta includes no blood and that's awful. Every fightin'-game should have blood. By the way, I enjoy Def Jam Vendetta and somehow it's amazing. ...more
[5] Rating: 4 Date: 2005-07-22 Summary: Highly good ... Part 1:The Review This is a superb game but get fight 4 NY instead because theres Snoop Dogg and Xzibit in it!But do get this as well and u'll have hours of fun and u never know who'll win because 1 time I was Spider vs Joe budden and I was beating the s**t out of Joe Budden and Joe Budden ended up winning! It is quick to finish but the other modes (Besides story mode) will make u playing for ages and Manny is annoying saying "Ah yeah?Well I'll run u into the ground!" so instead of taking it out on your younger brother,u ...more

[2] ... Review | Touting itself as "too gangster for the Garden" (in the words of its kingpin D-Mob), Def Jam Vendetta takes you on a head-slamming, gut-busting tour of the underground hip-hop fightclub circuit. No blow is too low in this testosterone-spiked world featuring the music and likenesses of such def jam artists as Ghostface Killah, Redman, and Ludacris--not to mention a whole host of the nastiest, most lowdown fictional thugs you'd imagine the hardcore rap world has to offer. Everyone's lying in wait to...more

Customer Reviews [1] Rating: 4 Date: 2006-02-05 Summary: less like war, more like battle chess.. ... If you buy this game hoping to go out on the battle field to kick some ass like the Terminator you will be dissapointed. I really liked this game. It has a chess like strategy to it. You control 2 (4 man) teams (sometimes a 3rd team) and you have to position the teams correctly and use the right weapons to succeed. If you have patience then this is a good game for you. Yes, the enemies are much harder to kill then in real life, but they had to make the game challenging. This game teaches strategy that can be applied ...more

Mayflash Universal PS3/PS2/PC USB Arcade Fighting Stick
Customer Reviews [1] Rating: 5 Date: 2008-12-13 Summary: Awesome Arcade Stick @ a good price ... All I have to say is, this is a great arcade stick. I bought it to play Super Street Fighter II HD Remix for PS3, and I can say I've been having a blast with this baby. I have to agree with other reviewers on the stick clicking issue, it can be a little anoying at first but once you have been playing with it for a while, you ignore the clicking completely. The Buttons are awesome (Big & Responsive). The only thing I don't like about the buttons is that on PS3 or PS2 you cannot map the buttons acording to your preference. ...more
[2] Rating: 5 Date: 2008-10-31 Summary: Great Arcade Stck ... Great arcade stick, works great with Mame. I'm running Vista and I plugged it in and I'm up and running right away. You need to install the software that comes with it to get turbo and macro functions, but I'm not really interested in that so I haven't used it. The overall constructions seems very durable. It has a metal bottom and high grade plastic on the top and sides. I wish the stick didn't click and I actually prefer a slightly slender stick, but after playing for awhile, I forgot about my issues with it. The ...more

[2] Rating: 4 Date: 2007-08-26 Summary: Not a Bad Collection, But Could Have Been Better ... I always believed that the Art of Fighting series were badly underrated. It never really caught on like the Fatal Fury or later the Samurai Shodown series. But it did had its merits nevertheless from the hugh characters to the sprit meter which limits how often you can special moves to the graphic scaling. All 3 games in the series are 100% versions of the arcade ports. Sadly, SNK Playmore didn't bother to do more like tighten up the controls in the 1st. Art of Fighting game (I'm still having problems exucuting Robert's ...more
[3] Rating: 4 Date: 2008-12-17 Summary: The "24-Bit" system.. ... Snk-Playmore seems to be one of the last companies to be releasing these old-school compilations. I'm personally glad that they are archiving the legendary Neo-Geo collection thru these releases. Personally, I've never been a big fan of the Art of Fighting series. Just couldn't really get into it like some other fighting games; however, I still enjoyed it from time to time. This compilation is a no-frills "direct to video" port from the Neo-Geo. You get all three original AOF games without any touch-ups or additions. ...more

This is my second game of the dragonball z i have and even thought it doesnt take long to finish the game, you still have a way to increase your character and gain new skills. [2] Rating: 4 Date: 2006-09-26 Summary: My Last PS2 Game! ... You know since there are next generation consoles coming out (which one of them is already out), I just wanted to see which game I wanted to make my last PS2 game, and I saw that Atari is coming out with another DBZ game and I just felt like making this my last game because Dragon Ball Z is something I liked since I was 13 and DragonBallZ has always been the best classic Anime around and now with the PS3, The Nintendo Wii coming out in November, and the system that is already out the XBOX 360, this was the best choice ...more

Customer Reviews [1] Rating: 4 Date: 2008-08-12 Summary: not as awesome as 2 caliber 3 ... Soul Caliber 3 was step in a new direction they made significant changes to the parry system and added some awesome new features. Character creation, an awesome idea that fit perfectly into the game. with a wide variety of weapon classes, you could honestly fight like a unique character. The only thing I didn't like was it felt like they were very limited on your armor selection they characters looked almost fake compared to the original cast. They stepped up the adventure, with a unique story where you could use your ...more
[2] Rating: 4 Date: 2008-08-04 Summary: The most addictive fighting game, EVER!! ... ARC here, I first became aware of Soul Calibur when it was an arcade game (under a different name) years ago. The fighting game was like Mortal Kombat but with weapons such as swords, ninchunk etc. This game was addictive too. Now, I found out about it (the PS2 game) through renting it at the Library. I was hooked. I ordered it used here on Amazon. The characters are well designed (and hotties: the young men on these game R cut!!) and unique to the fighting scene. There also is a multitute of unlockable characters, ...more
[3] Rating: 5 Date: 2008-12-06 Summary: one of the best fighting games ever! no scratch that.. one of the best GAMES ever! ... the fights are fast pace and fun. you can create your OWN fighter if the default characters arnt good enough for you, graphics are really good. and there is ALOT of unlockables and extras such as "Tales of Souls" and "Chronicles of the Sword" in Tales of Souls you can select a character and go on a Choose your own adventure type thing. in Chronicles of the Sword you can use your created characters to go on a pretty fun adventure. its like a RTS/RPG/Fighting game you can level up your characters to become stronger it ...more
[4] Rating: 4 Date: 2008-08-11 Summary: A fantastic, repetitive game! ... Having played and loved Soul Calibur II, I was definitely excited for SCIII. The new characters looked so cool and I couldn't wait to play them. Customization was brand new to me and I had fun creating whatever I thought of. Unfortunately, it just got a bit repetitive. Each character had a very similar story and I felt like I was doing the same thing over and over again. Although fun, it didn't offer anything exciting and no one seemed to play it, either. But then I realized how good the music was. I would play just ...more

DOA 2: Hardcore
Customer Reviews [1] Rating: 4 Date: 2003-06-10 Summary: Jiggle Factor... ... Yes, as a female gamer... it's kinda this Jiggle Factor that doesn't appeal to me about this game. Other than that it's not bad for a 3D fighter. Has a good control system and some cool characters, (Ayame is great) but a little gratuitous. ...more
[2] Rating: 4 Date: 2004-05-12 Summary: The lurning curve is steeper than Tekken ... This is a good game with great graphics. The combos in fights are harder than Tekkens and get this, if you want to counter, you have to push square and the same buttons that your opponent pushes. On DOA3 on XBOX they made the countering easier by just pushing 1 button. The modes on offer are single player, two player, tag team, survival and sparring and probally more. You can watch CPU bots go at it to see what the game has to offer. You can also kick oppenents through cenenery such as stained glassed windows, that ...more
[3] Rating: 4 Date: 2007-11-09 Summary: Good game ... Pros: Good graphics, fluid moves, diverse characters. Cons: Story mode too short, voice acting. ...more
[4] Rating: 5 Date: 2008-12-26 Summary: ONE OF THE BEST LONG-FORGOTTEN PS2 GAMES 9.25 OUT OF 10 ... This was my first time playing the DOA series on a non-Xbox platform. This was the last entry in the series that appeared on Playstation platforms. So after being a die-hard fan of the series on my Xbox and Xbox 360 do I think it's just as kickass as the Xbox entries? Oh hell yes. This version of DOA 2 is essentially a PS2-port of the Dreamcast original with extra features. This is easily a very recommendable PS2 game. WHAT THE GAME IS: The second entry in the critically-acclaimed fighting series from Tecmo and Team ...more
[5] Rating: 5 Date: 2003-07-13 Summary: Perfect port of the DC version, but a little late ... Dead or Alive 2 first turned heads as an arcade title that was later ported to the Dreamcast earlier this year. Now, the definitive version of the game, DOA 2 Hardcore has emerged to go up against the likes of Tekken Tag Tournament and Street Fighter EX3 as the PS2 launches. It's an easy call to say DOA 2 is the most visually captivating of them all. Game play wise, the fighting engine is solid, although the attack reversals work a bit too well and the disproportionate damage they cause keeps the combat system from ...more

Did you know the following facts about PS2?
These included a PCMCIA slot instead of the Expansion Bay (DEV9) port of newer models.
V0 was a Japanese model and was never sold in Europe or the US.
The PS2 also supports PS1 memory cards (for PS1 game saves only) and controllers (the PS2's Dual Shock 2 controller is essentially a slightly upgraded PS1 Dual Shock).
Sony has also made a PVR/DVD burning consumer device that plays PlayStation 2 games called the PSX.
There are also some disputes on the numbering for this PS2 version, since there are actually two sub-versions of the SCPH-70000.
It is widely believed that Sony has abandoned support for the hard drive.
Yet, the PS2 initially sold well solely on the basis of the strength of the PlayStation brand and its backwards compatibility, selling over 900,000 units in the first weekend in Japan.
Available in November 2004, it is smaller and thinner than the old version and includes a built-in Ethernet port.
Many analysts predicted a close 3-way matchup between the PS2 and its soon-to-be-released competitors Microsoft Xbox and Nintendo GameCube, noting that the PS2's graphics were inferior but that it had the advantage of a head start, and had a wide assortment of games of every genre (Xbox's strength was in its hardware; GameCube was the cheapest of the 3 consoles).
One of them includes the old EE and GS chips, and the other contains the newer unified EE+GS chip, otherwise being identical.
The PS2 launch seemed unimpressive and gaffe-prone, compared to the well-planned launch of the Sega Dreamcast, which was making a genuine attempt to woo developers and which had better launch titles.
These included a PCMCIA slot instead of the Expansion Bay (DEV9) port of newer models.
V3 has a substantially different internal structure from the subsequent revisions, featuring several interconnected printed circuit boards.
With a price of $299.99 per console, Sony made gross sales of roughly $153,000,000.
