Silent Hill 2 (Greatest Hits)
Feature: ... A re-release for Konami's survival-horror game Silent Hill 2, including the "Restless Dreams" extra story sections from the Xbox version. ...more
Customer Reviews — [1] Rating: 5 Date: 2007-03-23 Summary: THE BEST SILENT HILL EVER !!! ... This is the best Silent Hill, as to yet. I have played them ALL, the first one with "bad" graphics (I personally think they should remake the game with better graphics, so people can enjoy it more), The third one with the girl and the ROOM. But Silent Hill 2 just has the right amount of horror and twist and images and puzzles, that makes it the BEST (for me) of the series !!! ...more
[2] Rating: 5 Date: 2007-02-12 Summary: If you like Silent Hill 1, you will love Silent Hill 2. "Excellent Game" "Must Buy" ... "If you haven't played SH1 does not matter, they are different stories." I begin playing survival horror games like 4 months ago, because my cousins let them to me. They gave me Resident Evil 1 and 2 and Silent Hill 1. I began playing Resident Evil beacause i think it was better, but rapidly it began borring me, so I began playing SH1. Since the first time I played it I didn't stop. It was the best survival horror I ever played. It scared me on some times. But I finish it, I was so happy and I replayed it like 2 more ...more
[3] Rating: 5 Date: 2008-12-21 Summary: A sequel that stands strong ... Not all sequels, even trilogies, are great. But SH2 definitely makes it. It has the right amount of scare in it with great graphics, voicing, and most of all, storyline. The only flaw I would say about this game is the constant finding of items. There's just TOO many to find, especially in a lot of fog that I had to change the settings before I ruined my eyes. All in all, I would recommend this game after playing the first. You see a MAJOR different, but a great advancement in CAPCOM's technology. ...more
[4] Rating: 5 Date: 2007-12-07 Summary: Great job, Konami ... Its been 6 years since I played SH1, so when I played SH2 thoroughly it certainly gave me chills all over my body again. That's pretty rare these days. I enjoyed playing this game. The graphics are a whole lot better than the first SH game. Everything else was the same. I do have two complaints. One; to me the game felt kinda short, Two; Konami should have added a choice of choosing Widescreen or Standard screen(like RE4). I had to modified my Widescreen TV to get the images just right or the pictures would look distorted. ...more

Did you know the following facts about PS2?

Although Sony placed little emphasis on online gaming during its first year, all that changed because of the launch of the online-capable Xbox.

Since the V12 version had already been established for this model, there were some disputes regarding these sub-versions.

In September 2004 Sony unveiled the third major hardware revision (V12, model number SCPH-70000).

Currently, most people just use V12 for both models, or V12 for the old model and V13 for the newer one.

V10 and V11 have minor changes.

Developers also complained that it was difficult to develop for the system, with little in the way of reference material from Sony for its exotic architecture.

However, the release of several blockbuster games during the 2001 holiday season pushed the PS2 far in front even as the Xbox and GameCube made their impressive debuts.

Available in November 2004, it is smaller and thinner than the old version and includes a built-in Ethernet port.

Many analysts predicted a close 3-way matchup between the PS2 and its soon-to-be-released competitors Microsoft Xbox and Nintendo GameCube, noting that the PS2's graphics were inferior but that it had the advantage of a head start, and had a wide assortment of games of every genre (Xbox's strength was in its hardware; GameCube was the cheapest of the 3 consoles).

One of them includes the old EE and GS chips, and the other contains the newer unified EE+GS chip, otherwise being identical.

The PS2 launch seemed unimpressive and gaffe-prone, compared to the well-planned launch of the Sega Dreamcast, which was making a genuine attempt to woo developers and which had better launch titles.

These included a PCMCIA slot instead of the Expansion Bay (DEV9) port of newer models.

V3 has a substantially different internal structure from the subsequent revisions, featuring several interconnected printed circuit boards.

With a price of $299.99 per console, Sony made gross sales of roughly $153,000,000.
