Its been 6 years since I played SH1, so when I played SH2 thoroughly it certainly gave me chills all over my body again. That's pretty rare these days. I enjoyed playing this game. The graphics are a whole lot better than the first SH game. Everything else was the same. I do have two complaints. One; to me the game felt kinda short, Two; Konami should have added a choice of choosing Widescreen or Standard screen(like RE4). It has the right amount of scare in it with great graphics, voicing, and most of all, storyline. The only flaw I would say about this game is the constant finding of items. There's just TOO many to find, especially in a lot of fog that I had to change the settings before I ruined my eyes. All in all, I would recommend this game after playing the first. It really is worth it to go back and play these games again. I had forgotten how scary it is. [3] Rating: 4 Date: 2008-11-17 Summary: Good addition to the series, but do not play it on an HD tv ... I played this game on two different tvs, standard and HD. Playing it on the HD tv was horrendous as it was too dark to see anything. However, on my standard tv, the visual quality jumped up many notches where I could see my surroundings and manuveur without referring to my map at every step. I've been an avid fan of the series since it debuted on the PS. I wouldn't say this is better than the former installments, but it does show some improvements. Did you know the following facts about PS2?
One of them includes the old EE and GS chips, and the other contains the newer unified EE+GS chip, otherwise being identical.
As of V4 everything was unified into one board, except the power supply.
A silver edition is available in the United Kingdom exclusively.
In preparation for the launch of a new, slimmer PlayStation 2 model (SCPH-70000), Sony had stopped making the older PS2 model (SCPH-5000x) sometime during the summer of 2004 to let the distribution channel empty out stock of the units.
After an apparent manufacturing issue caused some initial slowdown in producing the new unit, Sony reportedly underestimated demand, caused in part by shortages between the time the old units were cleared out and the new units were ready.
The PS2 also supports PS1 memory cards (for PS1 game saves only) and controllers (the PS2's Dual Shock 2 controller is essentially a slightly upgraded PS1 Dual Shock).
Two propositions were to name the old model (EE and GS, separate chips) V11.5 and the newer model V12, and to name the old model V12 and the newer model V13.
Available in November 2004, it is smaller and thinner than the old version and includes a built-in Ethernet port.
Many analysts predicted a close 3-way matchup between the PS2 and its soon-to-be-released competitors Microsoft Xbox and Nintendo GameCube, noting that the PS2's graphics were inferior but that it had the advantage of a head start, and had a wide assortment of games of every genre (Xbox's strength was in its hardware; GameCube was the cheapest of the 3 consoles).
