Zone of the Enders: The 2nd Runner
Customer Reviews — [1] Rating: 5 Date: 2007-08-09 Summary: Hideo Kojima strikes again ... This title is one more brilliant video game coming from the genius mind of Hideo Kojima. Few things have changed since the first title. For start, Jehuty has now a new runner. I found the new runner even more likable and intriguing than the last one. The cutscenes are made in fashion of anime (japanese cartoons) witch is, for me, a big plus. The graphics have also changed (improved), looking more as cell-shaded game. Gameplay is similar to the previous game so it should please the players of the previous game and the ...more
[2] Rating: 5 Date: 2008-12-08 Summary: Hidden Gem ... This game is amaaazing. It is not very similar to Kojima's Metal Gear Solid series, but it succeeds in its own way very different from Metal Gear Solid. This game has to be THE fastest mech combat game, and succeeds in being both an action and third person shooter. However, small issues do make this game less-than-perfect. Pros. >This game has a pressure-sensitive mechanic, very much like Metal Gear Solid. It adds variety to the game, but doesn't really become an extreme necessity for those concerned about this. >Very ...more
[3] Rating: 5 Date: 2007-05-22 Summary: Short but Epic ... ZOE2 is one of the most overlooked games of the ps2 generation in my opinion. ZOE: The 2nd Runner is an sci-fi action/adventure game for the ps2. The storyline follows respectivly from Zone of Enders 1 and no you don't need to buy ZoE 1 to catch up. ZoE 2 actually has a summerized video of ZoE 1 in the game menu. Well let's start with the review. Characters|Story: [4.5/5] +Characters are well built / -Story is a bit rushed ZoE 2 Main characters are great, they have lots of dept, mysterious backgrounds, lots of feeling, ...more
[4] Rating: 5 Date: 2006-11-03 Summary: VEctor cannon ... What an awesome game! all I'v to say is the vs battle was superb where u get to battle against all the defeated bosses or become them. Its pretty challeging with some of the bosses but its all worth it when u recieve ur subweapon called the vector cannon. What power! better than ffx7 13 knight summon ...more

Zone of Enders
Customer Reviews — [1] Rating: 5 Date: 2008-10-02 Summary: A masterpiece in play ... Like many stories of depth in a series, this opening volume may seem a little convoluted and hard to grasp. Give it a chance and most of the important questions will be answered before "The Second Runner". It's fun to watch the characters grow and there are a number of shocking twists before the volume closes, but players may find a little disappointment in the fact that the main character, Leo, doesn't seem to grow from start to finish like everybody else. Fortunately, he grows up in "The Second Runner", but that's ...more
[2] Rating: 4 Date: 2006-01-09 Summary: nothing ... What is the japanese obsession with teenage boys saving the world? seriously. Its unrealistic. Sure its a robot game. But think of it as a future game. In the future little kids would be able to defeat army people? I doubt it. This game was fun and pretty and cool. But it was short and kind of repetitive. ...more
[3] Rating: 5 Date: 2006-09-25 Summary: A Highly Underrated Game ... This game is so highly underrated. A lot of people bought the game because of the Metal Gear Solid 2 demo disc. But those like me who actually played the game found a gem! If you like an arcade type shooter/hack and slash game, then this one is for you. The graphics is just incredible. The controls smooth. The gameplay is addictive. Although it is relatively short it can be replayed for higher scores not to mention the two-player versus mode. If you like Metal Gear Solid 2 then you owe it to yourself to try this game ...more
[4] Rating: 4 Date: 2007-05-12 Summary: It's not about the Gameplay ... This game is all about the story and the animation. The gameplay is basic enough and it's basically the same throughout the entire game. The drawing point is the story and characters and the wonderful cut scene animations that are amazing. The gameplay is fun, I've always wanted to pilot a mech like this, but for me once I saw that first cut scene I was hooked. If you like the anime style, this game is for you. ...more
[5] Rating: 5 Date: 2004-04-12 Summary: My Review ... I love the concept of this game. Big robot that blows other big robots up. Set in the not to distant future on a space colony orbiting Jupeter, a young boy named Leo is tossed into the middle of a war that he wants nothing to do with. Now it is up to him to save his home and the peopel that are still alive. OK now that the good stuff is out of the way I can tell you the only downer..... the ending I was left deeply disapointed with the ending. This, however, is not reason enough to now buy this great game. ...more
Editorial Reviews — [1] ... Product Description | A "giant robot"-themed action-adventure, Zone of the Enders not only looks great, but it plays great--a rarity in this junk-heap-filled genre. Set in the future inside an orbital space colony, Zone casts players as Leo, a young boy who inadvertently and unwillingly becomes the pilot of an orbital frame (giant robot) named Jehuty during a brutal invasion by hostile forces. While the original story is based on a familiar premise used in Japanese animation, the orbital frame designs are quite...more

[3] ... Product Description | The humans living on Antilia, a colony orbiting the planet Jupiter, think of themselves as Enders, as they're essentially at the end, or furthest reach, of human civilization. After a sudden attack by a fanatical Martian military regime known as the Z.O.E., Ender Leo Stenbuck finds himself with access to the one weapon that can save Antilia: a mechanized attack vehicle called an orbital frame. In Zone of the Enders , you'll command the orbital frame against several robotic opponents. The...more

Did you know the following facts about PS2?

V10 and V11 have minor changes.

After an apparent manufacturing issue caused some initial slowdown in producing the new unit, Sony reportedly underestimated demand, caused in part by shortages between the time the old units were cleared out and the new units were ready.

For some consumers this is in fact a limitation, especially for the fans of titles such as Final Fantasy XI, which requires the use of this peripheral, and prevents the use of the official PS2 Linux kit.

V5 introduces minor internal changes and the only difference between V6 (sometimes called V5.1) and V5 is the orientation of the Power/Reset switch board connector, which was reversed to prevent the use of no-solder modchips.

As a result, although Sony and Nintendo both started out late and although both followed a decentralized model of online gaming where the responsibility is up to the developer to provide the servers, Sony's efforts made PS2 online gaming a big success.

V0 did not have a built-in DVD player and instead relied on an encrypted player that was copied to a memory card from an included CD-ROM (normally, the PS2 will only execute encrypted software from its memory card, but see PS2 Independence Exploit).

V3 has a substantially different internal structure from the subsequent revisions, featuring several interconnected printed circuit boards.

In September of that year, in time for the launch of Grand Theft Auto: San Andreas (the best-selling game during the 2004 Holiday season), Sony revealed a new, smaller PS2 (see Hardware revisions).

In preparation for the launch of a new, slimmer PlayStation 2 model (SCPH-70000), Sony had stopped making the older PS2 model (SCPH-5000x) sometime during the summer of 2004 to let the distribution channel empty out stock of the units.

PS2's opening day console sales eclipsed the previous record of 225,000 made by the Sega Dreamcast in 1999.

There are also some disputes on the numbering for this PS2 version, since there are actually two sub-versions of the SCPH-70000.

To this day, the PS2 holds the record for the most consoles sold in a single day as well as the record for most consoles sold in launch day in America.
